New Buffy: The High School Years comic officially announced. CBR has the details and cover.

“In ‘Parental Parasite,’ Buffy struggles to deal with her mother Joyce’s sudden interest in spending quality time with her. Balancing this new development with her schoolwork, her friends, and her regular vampire-slaying duties proves to be a challenge. However, when Joyce becomes hypnotized by a childlike demon that craves motherly care, Buffy experiences a new kind of sibling rivalry—except in Buffy’s case, her ‘sibling’ is actually a monster!”

I know the monsters were metaphors but this is too on the nose.
Hmm. Buffyfantic, check your source please.
Did I go crazy somewhere?
I've enjoyed these so far. They aren't creating anything new but introducing aspects/main themes of the season. So far they've covered the change in becoming the slayer, the hierarchy of school, balancing slaying with school and Buffy's lack of free time. So now we are going to touch on her relationship with her mum and how they struggle to spend time together/relate. Whilst the plotting has been somewhat forced in them so far, they clearly are deliberately not trying to change anything but pull people into the verse. I've found them fun reads that cover the scoobie dynamic well and the voicing is good. I'll definitely be getting it.
This is not news. I pre-ordered this book in October.
Amazon listings often appear way before the official press release.
True, but cover and title were also already listed way back when. In fact you posted it on October 19, Simon ;-)

I will remember. The Amazon listings especially on the Canadian site are a great way of finding out what's coming out in the long term. The PR departments in the comic book industry seem to move at a snail's pace compared to whoever puts the listings up.
Dark Horse seems to have slowed down on heir previews a lot. I have something coming out next Wednesday that's been known about for almost a year but we didn't get any preview pages until this Thursday, from another site and not DH themselves.
